About
Emily Brundige is the creator of GOLDIE on Apple TV+, based on her award-winning short film of the same name, and the mind behind the cult-favorite YouTube series Pubertina. She served as Head Writer on the Emmy- and Annie-winning Hilda (Netflix) and Big Nate (Nickelodeon/Paramount+), and has over a decade of experience crafting original, heartfelt, and slightly oddball stories for kids and families.
She recently self-published A Guide to Developing Animated Shows, a practical and personal resource for aspiring creators, praised by animation legends Joe Brumm (Bluey), Jorge Gutierrez (El Tigre), and Chris Viscardi (The Adventures of Pete & Pete). Her latest project, Strawberry Vampire, is a Kickstarter-backed pilot animatic about a family of strawberry-draining vampires trying to blend into 1950s suburbia.

I’ve loved Emily Brundige’s humorous and charming animation since I first saw her CalArts student film. She’s a creator - auteur whose pieces can be sensitive & introspective and also flat out funny. Emily’s a great songwriter - artist but it’s her writing and personal voice that stand out for me. She imbues her humor with whimsy, pathos & pinch of the absurd, but she creates believable modern characters for our time.

As a writer, Emily has a one-of-a-kind voice. She knows just how to craft the perfect line that will catch you off guard with its simplicity, while also making you think, smile, melt, or laugh out loud. As a showrunner, Emily is a true leader. She greets everyone on the crew by name and knows just how to make them feel appreciated. While working together on an original series of her creation, Emily flexed her collaboration skills time and again while also holding true to her unique vision. She consistently delivered above and beyond, through all stages of production and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.
